When shared is no longer enough

More control for
a busier store.

A catalogue import should not be planned in isolation from checkout traffic. We look at the whole workload before recommending how much cloud capacity you need.

01 / SHOPPERS

Uncached requests need room

Checkout, customer accounts and personalised pages still need PHP and database capacity. We plan the environment around that work, not just cached page views.

02 / OPERATIONS

Background work adds up

Imports, indexers, cron jobs and integrations compete with the storefront. A private managed environment lets us tune the services around your trading pattern.

03 / CONTROL

A clear resource allocation

Your plan sets out its allocated vCPUs and RAM. If you need sustained compute or exclusive physical hardware, we will compare dedicated options too.

“The level of service we received has been second to none!”

vCPUs are virtual processor allocations, not physical core/thread counts. SSD capacity is the total allocation: the operating system, database, media and search indexes all use this space. Monthly transfer allowances measure outbound traffic; discuss additional transfer requirements with us before ordering.

What managed Magento
cloud hosting includes

DX3 looks after the hosting platform so your agency can concentrate on Magento. Platform incidents have a technical team behind them, 24 hours a day.

Talk through your workload
01 / PLATFORM

Build, tune and maintain

Operating-system and security updates, PHP, database, cache and compatible search services managed by DX3.

02 / OPERATIONS

Monitoring and support

24/7 infrastructure incident support, with Plesk and SSL included in the managed service.

03 / YOUR DEVELOPER

Clear responsibilities

Magento application updates, code, extensions and integration development remain with you or your agency.

04 / RECOVERY

Backups and restores

Daily off-site files and databases, seven days’ retention, additional VM-level backups and included restores.

Magento technology, properly integrated

One stack.
Configured together.

Memory needs to cover PHP, the database, cache and search—not just one headline component. We select compatible versions for your Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce release and tune services around the workload.

Application and extension requirements are reviewed with your developer before migration or a platform upgrade.

PHP-FPM + OPcache

Process capacity for uncached requests, with compiled-code caching to reduce repeated PHP work.

Nginx + Varnish

Request handling and compatible full-page caching, with checkout and personalised traffic excluded where required.

Redis + database

Compatible cache and session services, alongside database tuning for catalogue, checkout and background queries.

Version-matched search

OpenSearch or Elasticsearch selected for the installed Magento release, with capacity for indexing as well as live queries.

Your virtual server allocation

Magento cloud infrastructure
and locations

Your store runs in its own virtual server on Intel Xeon Gold 6242 hardware and XCP-ng. The VM has allocated vCPUs and RAM; the underlying physical host is not exclusively yours. We do not describe these vCPUs as pinned physical cores or guaranteed CPU time.

Choose a larger tier with DX3 as requirements change. Capacity changes are planned upgrades, not automatic elastic scaling.

One website transfer included

A move planned
around live trading.

We agree migration scope with your team: dependencies, tests, live-order synchronisation, cutover and rollback. Additional websites or application changes need a separate scope.

Recovery is part of the service

Backed up beyond
the server.

Every managed package includes daily off-site file and database backups, retained for seven days in a separate data centre. Restores are included.

01 / DAILY

Files and databases

A daily off-site copy provides a recovery point for the store’s files and database, with seven days of retention.

02 / VM LEVEL

Another recovery layer

Additional VM-level backups cover the underlying virtualised services across all packages, including single-tenant dedicated hosting.

03 / INCLUDED

Help with restoration

Contact the DX3 team to arrange a restore. Backup recovery is not automatic failover; recovery time depends on the incident and the data being restored.

    Frequently asked questions

    Before you choose
    Magento cloud hosting.

Is this Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure?

No. DX3 provides managed VM infrastructure for Magento Open Source or a customer-licensed Adobe Commerce installation. It is not Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure, Adobe’s own managed cloud platform. This is managed Magento VPS hosting operated and supported by DX3.

What is Magento cloud hosting, and how is it different from shared hosting?

DX3 Magento cloud hosting runs your store in a private virtual server with allocated vCPUs and RAM. Unlike a shared hosting account, it has its own managed operating environment. It uses Intel Xeon Gold 6242 hosts and XCP-ng virtualisation; the physical host is not reserved exclusively for one customer.

Are these physical cores or vCPUs?

The package figures are vCPUs: virtual processor allocations, not physical core or thread counts. Your plan specifies allocated vCPUs and RAM. A vCPU allocation is not a promise of pinned CPU time or exclusive physical cores. This does not mean that you have exclusive ownership of the underlying physical processor, or a dedicated end-to-end network connection.

How much does managed Magento cloud hosting cost?

The six plans range from £89 to £349 per month, plus VAT. DXV1 includes 8 vCPUs, 6GB RAM and 60GB SSD; DXV6 includes 18 vCPUs, 32GB RAM and 400GB SSD. Platform management, one website migration, Plesk, SSL, monitoring, backups and 24/7 infrastructure incident support are included.

How do I choose the right cloud package?

Share your current resource use, Magento version, catalogue, integrations and trading peaks. We size PHP, database, cache and search together, allowing room for imports and indexing. The 6GB entry plan needs a workload check; there is no blanket promise that a particular package supports a fixed number of products or shoppers. Upgrades are planned with DX3, not automatic elastic scaling.

Which locations and network allowances are available?

Choose the UK, Amsterdam, Washington DC, Singapore, San Francisco or Frankfurt. Each plan has a 1Gbps network port and a monthly outbound transfer allowance, from 300GB to 3,000GB. The allowance is data transferred out, not storage capacity. Discuss expected usage and any additional transfer with DX3 before ordering; confirm primary and backup data locations during onboarding.

What does 24/7 managed support cover?

DX3 handles operating-system and security updates, monitoring, platform incidents, PHP, databases, Redis, Varnish and search services, plus backup restoration. Magento code, application updates, extensions, custom development and third-party integration code remain with you or your agency. We work alongside your developer when an issue crosses that boundary.

Can DX3 migrate my existing Magento store?

One website transfer is included. We review the store and dependencies, prepare the destination and agree testing, live-order synchronisation, cutover and rollback arrangements with your team. Additional sites and any application or extension work need a separately agreed scope.

Which Magento, PHP and search versions do you support?

We host Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce, including Hyvä storefronts, with dependencies selected for the installed release. PHP, database, Redis and OpenSearch or Elasticsearch versions must be compatible with the store. We check requirements before migration or a platform upgrade rather than promising every historical version.

Are backups and restores included, and is this high availability?

Files and databases are backed up daily to a separate data centre and retained for seven days. Restores and additional VM-level backups are included. This is not a high-availability service and does not include automatic failover. Recovery time depends on the incident and the data being restored; backups are not a promise of uninterrupted Magento availability.

When is dedicated Magento hosting a better choice?

Consider dedicated hosting for sustained compute demand or a requirement for single-customer physical hardware. DX3 dedicated servers start at £199 per month plus VAT, so they are worth comparing from DXV4 upwards. Cloud remains an option for a managed VM environment and the available locations; vCPU counts are not directly comparable with dedicated physical cores.
